I had four teeth coming in on the top last week, and today my canines appeared (it's my nine month birthday by the way). Getting six teeth at once! Count'em, six. I have conscientiously been rejecting all baby food the last two days, even my once beloved yogurt and sweet potatoes. Give me the Real Thing. I have eight teeth, and I mean to use them.

The Park

There's a nice park two blocks from my house. Mom takes me there every morning before my nap, and I swing, slide, and ride the animals. But nothing is as fun as sitting in the bark and digging. I bend down, scoop it up in each fist, examine it carefully, and then rub it on my clothes. Of course, all this is a ploy to to make mom think that I could care less about eating it. However, just when the going's good, and I find a big piece that looks really tasty, the bark is, so to speak, snatched from my lips. I suppose moms will always be like that.

On the Move

Simply Marvelous

I rather like myself. I'm my favorite person to give kisses to and I always give myself big smiles. I have lots of talents. My latest is waving bye bye. Yep. I started out cautiously by just using my fingers for a few days, but now my arm action is beautiful to behold. Sometimes I'm a little late, so just know that the empty door or window gets a wave for you even if you've already gone.

Don't Neglect Your Gums

That's right, I'm eight and a half months old, and I brush my teeth (all two of them). Technically, one is just some white bumps on my gum, but I count it. I got my first one about a month ago, and it kept me awake at night for two weeks and my nose ran like crazy. This second one only hurt for four days. I expect there will be more, but now that I'm used to the pain, I will grin and bear it.

The Fam

We were all together, so we took a pic. But where is Uncle Keith? Working on the railroad, all his livelong days... We won't even be together for Christmas, as Daniel leaves for Iraq in less than a month. Also, note Clive, top right. He appreciates family as much as anyone else.
