We had a fabulous weekend camping with all the family. As you can see from the pictures we had an absolutely fun time. We skim over the half hour of near panic which ensued from Gus locking himself and the keys in the cab of the truck. He couldn't push the right button, but he could open the window and crawl through the back into the camper. Ahh. This is living.

Stories
I know I don't normally write much, but Lily is getting quite hilarious for a girl her age. She is so imaginative and talkative for an almost two and a half year old I can't resist sharing some of her better moments. I wish I could convey her little voice with her long drawn out syllables, so if I can catch her on video I'll post that too.
One morning Jonathan was in the living room cooing in his bouncy seat. From the kitchen I saw Lily quickly run to him and bend over right in his face. "Long ago," she began, and leaned a little closer, "An angel told Mary she would have a baby named Jesus. So she and Jofus went to a hospital and that night, Jesus came out of her tummy." And, having got this out of her system, Lily ran back to her toy corner and continued playing.
We also have deep conversations during her bathroom sessions. As we were sitting waiting for her to go, all of a sudden she looked at me with huge eyes. "Porter is gonna come get me," she whispered. "And eat me up like the big bad wolf." She nodded in a horrified sort of way. "Yep, he's gonna get me. That's the deal!"
Today at Costco we passed the furniture section and Lily spied a white bed for a little girl's room. "Look mommy!" she shouted. "That's the cutest little bed I've ever seen! A bed just for me!"
And this afternoon, while I was putting her down for her nap, she wanted to know what Nina was doing right now. I told her Nina was in Moscow and said, "Don't you love your Nina? She's your grandma, isn't she?" To which she responded calmly and seriously, "She's NOT my grandma, she's my friend, and I love her."
