Waiting

Hey all, just an update for all those wondering. We're hanging out waiting for baby to arrive. I've now been pregnant for a week longer than with the other two. Earlier this week I had false labor (contractions for 24 hours) so Luke's mom came to stay, but alas, they fizzled out after we came home from triage. We're hoping something happens before Donna has to go home next week! In the meantime, we're keeping ourselves busy. We've done some Christmas shopping, I got a pedicure, Luke and I went to our church Christmas party, and this morning we girls went and scored big deals at Rosanna's bi annual warehouse sale. If you haven't seen her dishes, you're missing out! I bought two sets of these and we got some other great stuff too. They really cheered me up today. We'll let you know when we have news and wish everyone a merry December as we all prepare to celebrate Christ's birth!

Bozeman

We took a week of vacation and spent some happy days in Moscow with family. For a few days in the middle we left the kids and took off to Bozeman, MT for a wedding. It was lovely-and many congrats to our good friends Taylor and Wendy! (And fortunately the storm didn't hit until it was time to leave!)

If only

Tonight at dinner Lily eagerly volunteered to pray. In a very serious and sincere tone she said, "Dear God, thank you for this food. And please let us have a safe trip to Moscow, where we will live happily ever after. In Jesus' name, Amen!"

Our beach girl

Hiking to Franklin Falls

We went on a "family friendly" hike, which, according to the book and internet, was easy for little kids with a mild incline up towards the waterfalls. So we went for it, and had a great time, though it was much longer and steeper than we expected. Lily did great and hiked for over two miles by herself, but by the end needed a little piggy back ride from mommy, who wished she had brought a crane to hoist up her belly and all those stretched out ligaments! And I'm not even that big yet (compared to how I can get by the end)...

Little Buddies

Lily and Jonathan are really good pals now. They do everything together-Lily kindly shares her bike, and, with less enthusiasm, her sacred cooking stool. She's learning, though, that while Jonathan wants to help cook, he's really more interested in showing us how he can climb back down, and back up, and back down, and so on. Still, it is a sacrifice for her to share the stool, and we are pleased with the results. Tonight we put Lily to bed and Jonathan got in with her. They laid there together, fake sleeping and laughing, and when it was finally time to end the fun, they cried as we carried Jonathan away, clinging to each other hands. It was pretty cute, but even so Lily couldn't convince us to let him sleep in her room. Not yet. Not until December.

Halfway There!

We had our 20 week ultrasound and are thrilled to have a very healthy boy on the way. He's doing great, and we've named him Ryle Henry. Can't wait to meet him.

Fourth of July!

We spent the morning shopping at Redmond Town Center (Luke adores REI), and had a yummy dinner of good old fried chicken. While we were eating Lily said, "I'm loving this dinner!" We then kept the kids up way past bedtime and went to downtown Bellevue for fireworks (along with sixty thousand other people). Let me say that the small town fireworks I grew up with were small potatoes compared with this! Of course it was rather loud for the kids, but we think they enjoyed it anyway! Happy Fourth to everyone!

Vasa Park on Lake Sammamish

It's been really hot in Seattle, so we've been hitting as many of the beach parks as possible. We have at least three or four within five to ten minutes, and the kids love it!

New House!

Lily's new bunk beds! (And Jonathan's when the baby comes)
