The deck is done!!

So, my dad finally finished our new deck and I really like it. I run on it, throw rocks off it, and occasionally try to throw myself off of it too.

For those uncles out there, its covered with Rhino deck composite material, has 3' deep concrete footings, and employs only the finest pressure treated joists, 16" on center.

Fun in the Sun

Here I am with my grandma ("Ya Ya") in her hometown of Tucson. We are having a fabulous time escaping the cold weather for the warm 70's. Here we are at the zoo. After we saw the animals and walked around all morning I had a grilled cheese sandwich at the Zafari Cafe and went home and slept for three hours. Whew.

No pictures for now, just words. Yep, I'm talking. I can say 'dog,' 'ball,' 'go,' 'mama,' 'book,' and even a two syllable word, 'kitty.' These words I use regularly, identifying the object with a gesture and a distinguishable label. It's a toss up what my first real word was, since I started using all these at once. A few weeks ago I said 'mamen' every time we prayed but I've given that up and now I just laugh when they end the prayer. Oh, and yesterday I walked over to the fridge and, lovingly stroking the door, I said 'milk.' They keep telling me to say please and thank you, but I return blank stares and point violently to what I want, until I usually (and I do say usually) get it.
